Interesting facts about me

Born in NYC into a show business family, I have spent most of my professional years as a drummer for a horde of artists in both jazz and rock. I've also written music for a small army of modern choreographers and played in several Broadway shows. Under the jazz heading, biggest claims to fame would be Gerry Mulligan ("Age of Steam" band) and Peggy Lee. In the rock arena, there have been a few recognizable names. The most recognizable continues to be the Monkees. Hey, hey. I recently relocated from NYC to Chatham in upstate NY. I love it here! Just ab-so-lute-ly LOVE IT! I'm currently dividing my time between composing my own music and writing. I'm in the process of writing my father's life story, titled "You Grew Up". On the musical side, I'm putting together a MIDI workstation and have completed a few test products. These can be heard at My Space. I have trained my sights on scoring films. I'm presently looking for any documentary projects in need of music. The Hollywood blockbusters will just have to wait... a couple of months at least! Whatever time is left after these pursuits will be devoted to living a good life up here. The word, "eke" comes to mind. And rightly so! It has become my supreme goal AND my favorite pastime. To "eke" is human! And, as my grandfather would often say (after removing his dentures at the dinner table) "To eke his own!" I think that says it all.

Groovy quotes

"The present day composer refuses to die!" said by Edgard Varese and often quoted by Frank Zappa (both deceased). "Time stands still when you listen to its rhythm." I'm proud to say that I said that! "It's a boy." the words of Dr. Marr (my mother's obstetrician).

Places to visit before you turn 100

If I make it to 100, I won't care where I am and likely won't remember where I've been. But, in the meantime, I'd like to return to Venice, Italy, and I'd like to take a sleeper train across the Canadian Rockies. I'd have to have a compartment on whichever side of the train has a view of the moon over the mountains. How cool would that be? I would not complain too hard about spending some time on an unspoiled tropical island. I'd promise to leave it just the way I found it.
